Egg and hatchling help.

krfun Jul 02, 2011 06:44 PM

I posted a pic of my first clutch of eggs back on may 15.

They were shriveling up and I was told to cover them with moist sphagnum moss. Well that worked great and I finally got up the nerve to candle them and I can see red veins in all the good eggs-which is about 13/15. So things look good for hatchlings.

I have the eggs in a sealed tupperware bowl in the incubator.

My question is when they start to pip do I take the bowl out of the incubator and put it in an aquarium? Do they usually pip at the same time? I've had the hovabator set at 83.5 degrees so I think its about 14 days more.

Thanks

No, it is absolutely fine to keep them in the incubator until they all hatch, and even shed, because the moist incubating medium and high humidity will certainly help the shed come off without incident.

But you WILL have to give them some tiny air holes in whatever they are kept in..LOL!

good luck!

Yes!

Every morning i do a new mental calculation of how many days they have been incubating. Its been 48 days now, so maybe 2 more weeks.

Thanks
