A sweet little face peeking out at me on day 70. This has been the best Zen lesson ever. LOL!

The first one poked his/her head out a whole inch but I didn't get the shot. Am trying to not pester them much as they enter the big scary world.

Thanks, everyone, for all the encouragement and information. More pictures coming as the hatch progresses. I think I may put a small hide in the incubating pan so when they come out of their shells they have something to hide under until I remove them to their tubs.

The first one out today, and moved into its own tub. It looks prettier than either parent, with more banding.

A big congrats To you Bob!!!!! Great feeling isn't it!! Don't be shocked if they are hard to get started. I had to cool more then a few down for several weeks to get them feeding. Tailing has worked very well for me too with most of my hard headed baby pyros. Good luck and post some pics when they show themselves.

Congrats to you Bob!
Now you are totally hooked.....Once you see eggs pip it is all over......lol

baby number two this morning. Do you think it is wondering what is in that huge bull snake egg? LOL!

Baby number three; just head poking out although pipped late last night.

Thank you all for the praise! Also for the education! A pleasant side note to this hobby is having a circle of friends both on the Internet and in real world with whom I have something of interest to share.

Last night I reminisced back to 2008 when I bought my first baby pyros (mama and papa to these babies), and joined a little forum (Pyromelana.com, unfortunately since defunct) and followed a thread about a guy in London breeding his knobs for the first time. How excited he was when the babies hatched! I thought that is what I want to do someday.

It seems they have a pattern of hatching one at a time; one will pip then hatch the next day while another one pips and so forth. Three more eggs to pip. At this rate they will all be hatched by July 10.

Thank you all for the high praise! That means a lot to this newbie!

Baby number three hatched out during the night. This was the most dented egg and I had been a little worried about it. Number four is still in egg. No other pips this morning.

When they hatch they all do an odd thing; they crawl over to the north east corner of the incubation pan. Why they do this is puzzling, as the pan is even in moisture and heat throughout.
