This egg was one of the fungus eggs, and had caved in badly, so I was pretty sure it had gone bad. I was right. It looks like it has been dead for a while, but there was no odor.

Yeah, that's too bad Kent. They don't usually smell real horrible because that takes oxygen to form bacteria. They usually shrivel away before they start to smell real bad, especially smaller eggs that don't have as much mass.
Very sad, but all a very realistic part of the game that happens now and then..
You sure got some sweet ones to be proud of though!

Sad, but you got a lot of god ones.
I don't know if this would help prevent mold, but I use distilled water to hydrate my perlite/vermiculite medium and only had three eggs from my bull snake get a spot of mold, but those eggs were defective anyway. She still has six good ones with no mold at all and is more than halfway through the incubation.

Looks like he went almost fullterm too. I believe the color is one of the last things to develop. The others look perfect!

Ummm... No. Especially when I consider where will I put them when they grow up! 3 more out this morning, just five to go. Then the clutch of 8 in a few weeks. I am going to be busy.

That's a bunch of pretty little ones. I love the blairs phase the best.
