It's a brand new day,........

DMong Jul 09, 2011 12:51 PM

........and I see it's time for a couple people here to beat the long-dead, decomposed horse corpse all over again today too.

I believe it's called a severe distorted obsession.

Hey!, can someone please post some interesting stuff?,...you know, like cleaning snake poop from cages, or whatever?.

Tell me about it!

Just now, while cleaning snake poop, my hypo brooks and one of my Southern pines, seen below, were arguing about their favorite college football teams. I had to yell at them to shut up, as it was getting out of control.

Holy crap!!,.....that thing is just incredible Kerby!

How many(if any)other known amel Heloderma are there in existence??. Was that one collected, or was it captive-bred, or what?......VERY interesting indeed!

I interestingly enough went and fed some stuff and cleaned snake poop. It beat watching the re-hash of yesterday anyway.

Hey didn't you guys know that's an old photo shopped photo that was used on the forums years ago and had a lot of people believing it was real? That's what I heard.

DMong Jul 09, 2011 05:34 PM

Never saw that one before Ross, but I can certainly believe it was photo-shopped. Wouldn't be the first time that hoaxed photos have popped up on the net to stir up the pot...LOL!

Yeah, I would have thought it was real too until no other photo's could be provided. Also, finding an albino in the sun is probably not likely going to happen.

Kerby... Jul 09, 2011 06:13 PM

I took that photo in 1997!

That is a fact!

Funny how in all three pictures the head(which you never really see), feet and tail are always in the same exact position... think we're being duped.

Gerry

RossCA Jul 09, 2011 11:39 PM

Yeah, I just noticed that too. Don't know how I didn't pick up on that. And it seems if it was amel the orange areas wouldn't turn yellow.

Kerby... Jul 10, 2011 09:54 AM

Well at least the picture is real.....and the gila is real..... a real reproduction. And I did paint it that way and take the pictures and posted the pictures in 1997.......oh, the offers I got for "that albino gila monster" back in 1997!

gerryg Jul 09, 2011 06:43 PM

Have to applaud your restraint... if I were to come across that Gila out in the wild it would have been home with me. Ever since I was a kid of 5 or 6 the three things I've always wanted to see are Gilas, Leafy Sea Dragons and the Giant Gippsland Earthworm... so far I've only seen the Leafy Sea Dragon(at the Boston Aquarium).

I could never have passed up taking that home... so again, hats off to your restraint!

Gerry

Kerby... Jul 09, 2011 06:54 PM

Gilas are protected in Arizona......and I am a law abiding citizen and would never break any wildlife law.

Seventh pyro baby hatched this morning. Clutch 100% hatch, only one with funny little kink tail but otherwise it is a good little baby.

No poop to report as already spot cleaned cages and gave all the poop to my potted plants.

Cool that the babies all made it out fine with only one slightly kinked individual.

See!, there is at least some crap that is useful and worth-while. Too bad you can't pot the other kind..LOL!

I decided to "un"bond my snakes and keep them seprate from now on. It will make it harder to breed and feed. But I and the honey badger just don't give a sh!t!.

Now, where were you in 1997 when I first posted these pics on the "Field Collecting Forum" here on kingsnake.com?

Some people remember that I have been a taxidermist since 1974. That "albino" gila monster is a reproduction that I painted to be albino.

But here is a recent skin mount gila monster with a reproduction head, sculpted tongue and reproduction cactus pads that I molded. It is for Arizona Game & Fish Department so they can use it for educational display.

That's pretty good. Those guys that thought it was photo shopped were wrong. There probably wasn't even photo shop back then but I may be wrong.

DMong Jul 09, 2011 08:31 PM

Yeah, there was indeed photoshop back then. My dad built computers and put it on my computer that he built for me about 1994-95. I'm sure it was around a bit prior to that too possibly.

PHFaust Jul 09, 2011 06:44 PM

It has been more than 12 hours since I received an abuse complaint? WOW!

I personally spent the day talking with folks about getting their first reptile, the evils of iguanas, picking up seminal plugs from my blue iguana HYBRID who decided to drop them at the pet store, and was VERY happy ya'all were kind enough to let me work public ed. See when I work public ed, you guys make sales. So being nice to Cindy when she is doing rescue work is GOOD.

Osama Binquana, my Grand Cayman Blue Iguana HYBRID hanging out. That is the display they try to sell. I actually increase their sales getting folks what they actually need.

What's your favorite nation? DONATION! Score of a variety of lighting supplies. Not stuff we normally buy but a nice haul for the rescue and stuff we can DEFINATELY use. Petco donated all that to us today.

Osama Binguana hugging my panda express veggie fried rice that will go with dinner on the grill.

Lastly, I came home, and this is me, literally checking forums with my back up princess "b"
