I'm excited to start working with the Dilute gene, it seems interesting. I'll be getting this Lee Abbott girl on the 19th, can't wait. She looks adorable. For all intents and purposes she's a Ghost Motley, just with a diff type of Hypo, at least that's my understanding from what I've read. If anyone else here is working with Dilutes I'd love to see more photos!

Cool Lyn!....so what you are saying is that it is a dilute anery motley?, right?.....because the dilute gene does indeed mute/fade an anery out to "seem" like a typical hypo gene as well.

Yup, genetically she is Dilute, Anery, Motley. I haven't researched them enough to determine who initially started working with the gene or who started calling the Anery ones "Blues" although from some pics I've seen online I do see the reason as some of them do grow up to be quite blueish. I saw some that were alot prettier than others as adults. As this one was produced by Lee Abbott I'm thinking there is a good shot she'll grow up to be one of the pretty ones. She's sure cute now. Can't wait to see her in person next week!

Yes, that snake is really nice looking for sure. I really like the uniqueness of the way this gene works as well.

BTW, the first blue normal patterned "dilute" was produced by Rob Stevens of Bayou Reptiles in 2006. Here is the story on it.
