My 4 foot black and white argentine tegu was in the yard up here in Canada and it suddenly gulped down some large toad it found. Not sure what kind. It's been about 5 hrs and he seems fine. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this. Thanks

I have never had this happen with my argentines but I have been told by a reputable breeder his eat toads while roaming his yard and it hasn't hurt them.
thanks for the feedback. I'm figuring that too, figure they obviously eat toads in the wild but not sure if he might not have resistance to toads in North America. He seems fine so far.
When I had my Nile monitor he mangled a large fowlers toad that had made the mistake to venture in his outdoor pen. He did not eat most of the toad, but I am pretty sure venom from the toad had been ingested in some amount.
Wow that would have freaked me out too man. Glad to hear your Tegu is doing ok.
