anery jungles

Joshpainter Jul 09, 2011 09:58 PM

how big of a market are these going to have? I am debating on breeding my ghost with a jungle het anery or trying to prove her het albino with an albino het anery. I know there are very few anery jungles but it seems jungles are readily available all year and don't know how big of a difference the anery gene will affect their popularity... let me know what you think. also how do you set pricing on or what does everyone expect it would be on an anery jungle?

I for one LOVE anery jungles! Hit the jungle snow this year and yet was still bummed that I missed on the anery jungle! Got lots of cool albino jungles 66% het anery... The market? Let's just say they aren't flying off the shelf where has the boa love gone?
I think the jungle gene is awesome, but so many people have misrepresented the jungles that now unless you have a chain pattern from head to tail they want nothing to do with it! Jungles are way more than just aberrant patterns, it's the color and overall clean crisp look that does it for me!

tat2darin Jul 10, 2011 12:38 AM

All the hypo jungles are 50%het snow, same dad different mom from the jungle snows...

Jungles are a massive hit over her in the UK.
Especially if they have a high expression pattern.

Personally I love the Anery Jungle, we have a stunning Ghost Jungle, a Hypo Jungle TH Moonglow and a Jungle het Albino. I'm hoping to get an Anery Jungle when we breed the Ghost next season.

do you have any photos of the ghost jungle? that sounds awesome!

I would definitely prove out the Ghost to be het Albino or not first. The difference between an Anery Jungle and an Anery Jungle possible het Albino will likely have a big affect on who your customers will be. Then I'd base my decision on how the parents look. Ugly Snows will sell better than Ugly Anery Jungles. Nice Anery Jungles will sell better than nice Snows. Good luck

kyle, that makes alot of sense to prove her albino to add to the genetics of the anery jungles. I agree with jeff as well on quality. the only anery jungle I have seen was kirbys, so I have higher hopes for the outcome than others who have seen lesser quality animals... if I had the money I would get dean holmes albino jungle het anery and kill 2 birds! thanks everyone

Again we have only seen the tip of the iceberg on this one. I personally am not interested in a Anery Jungle or Ghost Jungle if I have to put the animal under a microscope to see that it is a Jungle. Show me an Anery with normal Anery color and a couple saddles with pale pattern elements from a Jungle breeding, and I will show you TEN anerys with the same or better saddles that absolutely are NOT Jungles. If they don't stand apart from Non-Jungle Anerys, what's the point?

Example: These Boas are absolutely 100% no way on Earth a Jungle of any kind:

But I guarantee I have seen ten animals listed as Jungle Ghosts and Jungle Anerys that show few "Jungle" traits than these two Boas show. That's just me. I want to have my socks blown off by a Jungle Anery or Ghost or what is the point?

I want my Jungles to look like Jungles even if I have the eyesight of a drunken sailor at 4 in the morning. Slap me up side with the good looks of a Jungle kind of Jungle is what I want. Using that criteria, I have only seen Anery Jungles and Ghost Jungles in two litters like that. The one Bill Kirby made a few years back and this year a guy in Canada whose name escapes me. Those kind of Jungle Anery/Ghosts I have never ever seen up for sale. I think the masses will be all over those kind of Jungles... when they are available.

why are anery jungles so rare?

Joshpainter Jul 10, 2011 10:10 PM
