Mocha's?

lbratcher4 Jul 10, 2011 01:31 PM

Can someone please describe what traits make a mocha a mocha?

I hatched out some hogs that to me look similar to pics I have seen of mocha's but I am not sure what I would be looking for to know if they are mocha's. Thank you.

Why don't you post some pics, so the experienced folks here can give you an opinion?

Here are pics of 2 of the babies. I posted pics in another forum they say they don't think these are mochas. I think they are right because they don't have the twin spots behind the head. I will post them in two post.

Here are the rest of the pics.

Mochas are still one of those projects that new info comes out with each breeding. Originally the traits for mocha were Large wide saddles and extra wide banding. The coloration varied from brown to gray blotches. Background coloration is white to light gray. In most examples, background coloration is limited to around 20% of the overall coloration. Another feature is the enlarged double spots immediately behind the head patterning. Last season, Louie Chavez hatched out mochas that were nearly completely banded. The banding is wider than that seen in the red, albino, and het albino lines. Another trait is black ventrals. occasionally the black coloration will begin to come up the sides of the snakes.
As Jon encouraged, please post some pics or you can send privately if you wish.
