I may be the only idiot in the room, but what are the genetics of the highway ball? Is it a combo morph or its own co-dom? Thanks.

Its a yellow belly x het highway. The het highway looks like a yellow belly but carries another gene. Its hard to tell the difference.

Congratulations, those are Highway Balls. When you get a chance please let us know how you produced them and anything else you can tell about them. Pictures of the parents would also be pretty cool!

Nice. Congrats. Was this an accident? Did you know you had a het Highway you were breeding? Pics of parents would be nice to see.

Beautiful hatchlings, they'll change dramatically up to two years of age. My female Highway will be breeder size for the 2012 season.

I have some updated pro-shots on my web site.

Maybe I'm the only idiot in the group, but what are the genetics to the "highway" ball? Is it a combo morph, or its own mutation or unknown??

Thanks.

anthony james mc Jul 14, 2011 01:50 PM

As with the Super Stripe and the Puma, the Highway Ball is produced with a Yb and another Allele to the Yb (Het Highway is all I have heard them called ). The Highways are darker than the Puma's but don't have quite the same heads as the Super Stripes, Highways have heads more like a colored Ivory head.
