Another newbie egg question.

krfun Jul 10, 2011 09:13 PM

Its been 57 days in the incubator at 84 degrees.

Is there any way to tell by the appearance of the eggs if they will be pipping soon?

Getting antsy here.

Thanks

Eggs will usually "dimple" a few days before they hatch. I can understand your anxiousness. We all get that way.

Dennis is right, they will sometimes dimple shortly before hatching.
It gets nerve racking waiting but be patient and remember they can actually take up to 80 days to hatch. That's an extreme but it has taken that long or even longer.
I think that if your temps are truly averaging around 84F then you should hopefully see some little "pippies" by the weekend or even sooner....hopefully!
