Should I have done what I done?

I was sitting here wondering why my eggs haven't even pipped. Thinking that it has only been 56 day, I'll give them a couple more days.... Wait! I went back and read my snakes card and done some quick math. Yeah I put a date on the card of when they should have hatched. Today makes for day 66. And not the first pipped egg. So I CAREFULLY cut them to make sure they are ok. (YAY!.. Happy Dance) Sorry my first ball python clutch to go full term. Three spiders and two normals. Two of the spiders are super light, looks like a pastel spider. Now I know that is not possible because it was a spider male x normal female. I will try to get picks up as soon as they merge from the eggs. OH I forgot, Did I do the right thing or should I have just let them cook some more?

it depends. you say a really light spider which makes me think they have not yet fully developed color. by this time they should have all their color. if it is day 66 then yes they would be fine. just leave them be and they will come out when they feel like it. i usually have my babies hatch at day 52 on average incubating at 89 degrees.
good luck

I was thinking the same thing about the actual development of the snakes. They should have their color and ready to emerge. They all look healthy, none smaller than the others. Moving around like little snakes do. Just the two really light spiders have me puzzled.....

I would say you did the right thing.

Because one of them is wrong. They don't take 66 days at 89 degrees. The light ones just don't have all of their color yet.
