Cohabitation DISASTER w/only 1 in cage!

BlueKing Jul 11, 2011 12:47 PM

This is funny......
After all the talk and arguments about co-habitation with kings.......
This guy can't even co-habitate with himself! He is the ONLY one in his cage!
When he bit, he held on hard, and constricted HIMSELF!!!It took me a minute or two to separate him from HIMSELF!
But honestly, THIS guy would eat five mice every HOUR if I let him!
No matter how full his stomach is, he always wants more, lol!

I found this one in a circle. He sat there for 10 minutes before he relized it wasn't another king... Sorry for the cell pic!

Have you tried feeding i chicks? They are cheaper than mice (.12 cents) and then you can really feed him up.

My experince with snakes that act like that is they are hungry...REAL hungry! So i feed them whatver and whenever and eventually they calm down this agressive feeding behaivior....... Which could stem from prolonged starvation or inadequat meals.

I prefer rodents. Snakes and lizards are better for them because the dont make them fat. They get alot more muscle. Just like King Cobras and any other snake desined to eat other snakes.

How about mixing it up - Variety CAN be good for them....I have also fed them fresh road killed snakes in the past... Unfortunately, a lot of snakes get ran over here in NC, especially copperheads and cornsnakes.....This little ratsnake was ran over right in front of my house one evening and squirming about so:

Zee,...I'm wondering if you shouldn't have cut the ratsnake into a few sections and froze the rest for later future feedings.

Surely that little king didn't keep all of that guy down., correct?.

Good point, Rainer.
Might have to try the chick thing...That would be a LOT cheaper. I forgot all about those. I've got a couple of obese snakes in the collection and didn't want to add anymore, but maybe THIS one will eventually get his appetite under control if I go ahead and let him have five meals a day for a while!
