First eggs to hatch: F1 Brooksi

foxturtle Jul 11, 2011 10:00 PM

Came back home from the mountains this past Saturday to find my first clutch hatching. Even cooler, I got 7 snakes out of 6 eggs!

These are first generation offspring from a pair of brooksi I collected in south Miami-Dade County, FL. I didn't know what to expect, but I think they came out looking pretty good. I'll get better pictures of all of them after they shed out.

The whole group:

The twins:

I've got 2 more F1 brooksi clutches on the way from different pairings.

These are the parents to this clutch:

Male:

Female:

Haha. I get my newspaper from a neighbor's recycling. It feels weird to use it when the puzzles have been filled out.

They look great! I like the similaraties in the head patterns of the twin, yes they are different, but you can see one trying to copy the other. Congrats!
