I'm not sure yet what my plans are with this guy. Most likely I'll breed him to a pastel and maybe my black pastel. I'm also buying a clutch of honeybee x spider poss her hypo. So I'll breed him later to a female spider het hypo or honeybee later on.

I didn't want to be a skeptic. The first one anyway.
Looks like a normal ghost to me.
Just my humble opinion.

mikebell Jul 12, 2011 06:24 PM

Maybe one parent was a super vanilla, you'd know for sure that way. The vanilla gene is rather subtle, especially at first. Pastel vanillas don't look much nicer than a regular pastel as hatchlings, but they really pop at a year. This snake might need some time.

joshhutto Jul 12, 2011 07:54 PM

when you have a clutch that has both vanilla hypos and regular hypos together it is very easy to tell which is which. And like mike said, if it was from a super vanilla it has to be a vanilla and all vanillas change into super snakes at 500-700 grams. Adult vanilla hypos and vanilla pastels are crazy.

.....you people didn't want to be first...thanxx...make me do it all the time...LOL...guess I did it...

anyways....I have made ghosts for years now....8 of them I guess.......I get lght ghosts, dark ghosts, little pattern and really busy patterned...all from the same parents....I got one last year that looked like a lesser more than a ghost...only all browns....really dark brown...ask Shelby.....I know it's tough on these new morphs and new crossed morphs.....I got 2.2 enchi pastels...one pair looks orange now and one pair looks yellow...yet I think they are all enchi pastel....keep till I know....mojaves...look at them and the mystic deal....can we tell them apart???....and people made/make BEL with mojo x butter or lesser...wow...now they got to figure out which are which>? and all these new people cannot tell what a ball is from a burm if it's small...LOL....some...

...good luck...hope it WAS from super vanilla....!....have fun...

vanilla ghost....need to breed to ghost stuff...that needs lightened....

ghost black pastel
ghost pewter even...
ghost vanilla
ghost mojave
ghost pin or spider would work....
ghost sable types....

...???.....I can't make up my mind what would work best....to lighten the stuff like black pastels....it is done with the ghost itself......hmmm........lighten it more and it turns silver like silver streaks and silver bullets......

If you haven't seen the vanilla and super vanilla black ball then you are missing something. Blows away the super pewter!!!!!! Puts the term silver snake to a whole new level. I'll see if I can get a few updated pics of them.

It is easy to see in person but hard to see in a photo! Here is a clutch photo. There a big differance the hypo is on the bottom and the hypo vanilla's are above!

JYohe Jul 12, 2011 08:36 PM

looks like it....and yes, cameras pick up the colors under the skin.....

....good luck.....>>>>

That's the people who post on K/S everyone puts in there 2 cents! I know you will be happy with him when you see him in person. He is sweet and 100% vanilla-hypo(orange ghost)!

chongorojo Jul 13, 2011 12:18 AM

In a thread is a bad thing now.. sheesh, I guess I will keep my pics to myself.

no man, no offense was meant. your pics are very welcome.
i just didnt think that the snake was in question of NOT being a vanilla. you supported the fact that he is vanilla.
and i would love to see pics of your boy...

sorry if I offended you this was not my offended! I would like to see any vanilla combo's. they are my favorite morph and I plan to make many combo's. this is some of my pastel-vanilla's and once agian my apologys!

joshhutto Jul 13, 2011 05:54 AM

those are some sweet vanilla pastels there. Here is a pic of a female I produced last year, she is turning out very nice. She's a little more orange than yours but equally as clean. I wish I had permission to post all the vanilla combo pics I have but they aren't mine so I can't do that. Everyone will just have to stop by GCR's table in Daytona this year to see some serious vanilla flavored eye candy.

I will post of pic of a GCR produced hypo super vanilla yellowbelly that was produced last year (I need updated pics of this, it's rediculous).

nice combos...even just the vanilla pastel....

I have vanillas....know how much I liked them ....?...I bred them to each other...and that was it....then I think I probably dried the eggs out....

so maybe next year I'll mix vanilla to something....like a chocolate....?........
