Aztecs and Zig-Zags?

TJ. Jul 13, 2011 10:07 AM

I haven't seen much of either of these 2 morphs for a while, either in the forums or classifieds. Anyone still working with the crazy patterned stuff?

Not the most extreme example, but here's the best I have:

I have eggs cooking from him and this female that I hope will produce some aberrant kids:

I think some of the problem is that traditional Zig-Zags and Aztecs are not able to be produced in a predictable way (they're not simple recessive genetic traits).

correct...but if you get the right pair...you will get the best odds and the best aztecs....like 80% GOOD patterned aztecs from a single litter....as compared to other pairs that throw 2 from the whole batch.....

and they don't always have to be the best aztecs to throw the best .....

keep pairing ...till you find it....

"and they don't always have to be the best aztecs to throw the best"

That's really what it comes down too. I have a couple VERY wacky aberrant Hondos that came from several very consistent aberrant clutches. Both the parent's however were very normal patterned.

Seems to come from lavender line! Right, Jeff

I just hatched a clutch that was 90% Aztec or Zig-Zag and most of them are 75% or more abberant. I'll be posting them in the classifieds soon.

Thanks
