help!! Veiled eating dirt

help!!!

I have a 3 month old veiled chameleon and eat has been eating dirt from the planted ficus. Is it normal?

help please

Hi-

Yes, from time to time chameleons will eat dirt. Large amounts are a problem, and any prelite or fertilizer balls. For this reason it is important to cover the soil with large river rocks. Hope this helps!

If he's shooting at the dirt it could be that shiny flecks of mica are attracting him. I had a veiled who would roam my carpets shooting at any flecks of dirt that caught his attention. It was a bit weird, but he seemed to enjoy it.
