Color change in Lavenders

FastDad Jul 15, 2011 01:24 AM

it is amazing to see the difference a shed make!
He did hatch as a nice red colored specimen on the pattern... then start to "lose" the red and turned into a nice soft orange brown. Now this color starts to fade also.
What is realy crazy is the color on the belly. It starts realy dark but not quite black and starts to lighten up right now.

now the pictures

before shed

after...

the belly before shed

and after...

Is this something of your own or does this come out of Turcotte line lavenders?
And if so, are there extreme examples much like the axanthic & evans /lasik hypo lines?

The ventral actually looks like the smoke hypos that Charles Shanklin is working with.

Hi Kevin

this one came from Davids line, but we got him from Jeffrey Clayton
It is realy cool to see the colorchange with my own eyes and I can tell you for sure, that the belly from the lavender and the smoke look different...at least as I remember and can see on my own pictures

The eyes are ruby, but it's hard to see until they get bigger.
