those are mites to eat predatory fungus gnats in greenhouses....

buy mites to eat gnat larvae...

not sure if they will eat reptile mites...???...but maybe...?..

....never heard of it.....

...cedar will rid the cage of mites naturally...but noone wants to try that either...???.....I actually throw cedar chips all over my rodent room floor lately to keep the dust mites down?...

.....pennyroyal will keep spiders away...mites are just mini spider wanna-bes...?....not sure what snakes and pennyroyal will do....it's a mint....

I found a few more videos on these predatory mites...and they seem to be quite effective. They do eat snake mites, and then die once their food source is gone.

Worth a shot maybe.

the easiest way to get rid of mites is to not buy snakes that have them...
i have had mites in the past. 95% of the time they came from purchases by people i never heard of. i have not had mites in many many years from selectively choosing breeders,and checking your snakes out very well when they arrive and quarantine. i never handle random snakes at pet stores, friends places. as they can travel on your person.

mites walk how fast? accoring to Barker's book...40 feet per hour....so....

at shows...crickets get on my table all the time...it annoys me... know they can carry something....

but think of all the tables down the line.....as people walk by and touch everything...little kids leaning and touching and carrying it on to the next table...touching a wet stinky limy gross turtle then asking "may I hold it"...as they point towards the pery pied you have.....UM...NO>....they act surprised...as if I am rude....Um...NO>...Go away...go to the Zoo...Philly has one....It's over that way>>>>>>>>>and using schmootz on your hands won't help my mind...go away.....>>>>>>>>>

Just had this convo w/my 10 yr old! "Dad, why don't you have mites"? "Cause son, I only buy from people I know"! Granted, I've been breeding Balls since about 90' so I have a lot of connections, but that's how careful you need to be! He also asked me what "quarentine" means? As far as shows go, you have to allow only "serious" buyers handle and STILL have hand sanitizer on hand!

I prefer to not even take the snakes out of the deli-cups at shows....and actually tape them shut....I will open them if I think I really need to...some people are so anal, ...and I have seen many a mite at homes of people who were around waaaay before I started this....and I started in 1989 the second time around....(79 the first or a little while...)

there are no guarentees .....quarentine ...it's a good thing....

Truly , I must be more careful in the future. There is No reason that I ,would actually type out a full comprehensive paragraph. I am really glad people keep telling me about my writing skills. It helps me in my breeddings. LOL???

.......actually I got all A's in English III or whatever it was I had as a senior in high school....whatever it was , it was the fullest ,and toughest English there was at the time in my school......aced each test each week.....

(but I told her that vocab words were for little kids and refused to do them each week...which is a 0....so....average of 100 and 0 each week is what?....less than 70 passing grade...HA!)...

....I notice more and more people all the time using the dots......and not just in here.....
