last year i purchased a female jalisco milk with the intention of getting her a future mate sometime this summer.

this past monday i was presented with the opportunity to make a trade with john emberton for what may possibly be one the granddaddies of all lake chapala milks currently in the trade.

john decided to part with him since his mate passed last year and he hadn't kept any the offspring. while he's over a decade old he's in great shape and i'm very lucky to have been able to pick him up.

he just shed out today, so i took a few glamor shots of him:

and here's an older pic of his future girlfriend (she's opaque):

Very nice Brian! I especially like your female. Should get some nice offspring from them. So what did you trade for him?

a pair of okeetee corns, a trio of getula, and a pair of albino sinaloan/nelsons; for him, a female bairdi, a couple bales of bedding, and some store credit to be used at a later date.

Very nice acquisition. If things remain good I'll be looking into Lake Chapala Jalisco's later on down the road... congrats and good luck with your future breeding program with them.

That's nice that you were able to put the pair together. I know they aren't that easy to find. In the last year I luckily managed to put together a colony of 7 adults. Like your male, I believe several of these are pretty ancient animals. 2 of them were owned by Applegate. I'm not sure how many years ago he sold all those guys to Stan Draper but it's surely been a while. I got them from Draper just last fall. I only have 4 eggs so far this year but am looking forward to a good year in 2012.

that's excellent to know, i'd been wondering what had happened to applegate's line after he sold them to 'a utah scientist'.

again, thanks for the information and now i know who to pester next season for another female

good luck with them.

Nice representative of arcifera, Brian! Is your female also a Laguna de Chapala animal?
