FL:Couple Guilty After Python Kills Girl

OliveJewel Jul 18, 2011 01:57 PM

abcnews.go.com/US/florida-couple-found-guilty-pet-python-strangles-girl/story?id=14081180

Doesn't look like anyone reads this section of the forums, but I'm glad for the person who posts all the news. Just wondered what anyone here thought about this case. I am glad this couple is getting the full sentence. They were over-the-top neglectful and the poor girl paid her life for it. I just hope lawmakers don't take this case and run with it to ban pythons.

My skinks:
1.1.1 Corucia zebrata (Berman and Joni, baby Charlemagne)
2.2.2 Eumeces schneideri (Jack and Mabel; Kaa and Cochisa their babies)
0.0.4 Egernia striolata

Uh, too late. Florida already HAS basically banned several large python species, along with Yellow and Green Anacondas. Animals owned prior to the ban were grandfathered in with "Reptiles of Concern" permits, but you cannot obtain any new ones.
