Possible new morph (pics)

SerpentSyndicate Jul 20, 2011 08:26 AM

I posted a few days back about a possible new morph. My partner and I bred our mojave male to two normal females. The first clutch hatched out five normals and two mojaves. The second clutch hatched out three normals and three mojaves. 48 hours later this odd ball hatched out of the last egg of the clutch. Don't know what's going on if it combo with the mojave or if it's recessive and had hets and didn't know it. We talked to the guy that we got the mojave from and he said he had only bred to normals. It turned out to be male and we'll just have to prove it out.

Probably just a wicked mojave, there is only one way to find out though. Its head look a little funny too.

I hatched something similiar, but not as extreme as yours last year. I held him back to breed back to mom. The mother had a "granite" look to her.

Wow, what were the parents? Closes thing I've seen yet. What does the head pattern look like? Yes this could prove out to be nothing.

I also hatched something out that is close a few years back. But mine was with a lesser instead on a mojave.

I dont get the hidden genes involved with the platty but understand somewhat many "normal" sibs of those clutches carry a special gene. the pics i see off those look similar but yours looks shades darker. the reduced pattern is sweet. Is it possible the normals have that hidden gene? or am i way off base cause like i said i dont fully get the hidden gene thing in that whole complex of color morphs. any thoughts?

I have a twin to this little guy. Like you, I bred my mojo male to what I thought waa a normal female. Id be interested to see what others have to say about this.

I made something similar to yours but not quite as extreme. I think you have a super reduced patern mojave. The last two pics are of my different looking mojave. The first pic is of the dad. I dont have pics of the rest of the clutch but they were fairly normal looking mojaves. This one looked nothing like the others.

I was always told that its typical for mojaves throw stripes.. maybe we need to do some stripe to stripe to find out?

Last years hypo mojave male.
