TH Motley Ghost x Super ghost - results.

rainbowsrus Jul 21, 2011 05:52 PM

This year I paired up my proven super Ghost Female with a first time breeding male TH Motley Ghost (Hypo Motley het Anery). I know in a recent thread there was some rumbling about some oddities in a HypoMot x normal pairing but mine seems to follow the school of though that Motley and Hypo share the same locus.

While individual litters may vary greatly from expected results, this litter of 24 was almost dead on to the odds.

Hypo Motley x Super Hypo = 1/2 HypoMots and 1/2 Super Hypo, I got 12 HypoMots and 12 Hypos (presumed Supers)

Anery x Het = 1/2 Anery and 1/2 Het anery, actual results were 13 Anery and 11 Het anery. So got one more showing Anery than odds would expect.

Where I did vary most from the odds was in the combination of traits. Calculated results would be 6 each Motley Ghosts, Super Ghosts, TH Motley Ghosts and Super Hypo het Ghost. My actual numbers were:

5 Motley Ghosts
7 TH Motley Ghosts
8 Super Ghosts
4 Super Hypo het Ghosts

Really should have taken these before I posted

One of the Motley Ghosts, pre-shed it was kinda hard to tell them from the TH's but once they shed it was clear, the TH's got color in the tail and these did not. I even missed one Mot Ghost in my pre-shed sort/count, thought there were only 4 but one more showed up post shed....

And a group shot with one each Motley Ghost, TH Motley Ghost, Super Ghost and Super Hypo het Ghost....

Cool thing is post shed it was pretty obvious who's who!
