And he/she is a beauty. Maybe the best ever I've ever produced....really light orange, little to no black and triad count in the high 40s. It's fun to see how far this project has come. 16 more to hatch.

They are Baja Mountain Kingsnakes(L.zonata agalma)....Sierra Juarez locale. I have been selectively breeding them for the last twenty years to get these traits of light orange, reduced black and high triad count. Mission Accomplished on the first two and I'm working to up the triad count. It's a fun project.

That would work out to about 5 or 6 generations over a 20 year span, I am thinking. Definitely a worthy project!

That is beautiful. Will be awaiting the post shed pics! It is just amazing how the babies seem to have so much less black than either parent. I didn't think a baby could be either lighter or darker than its parents, but then I have only a thin grasp of snake genetics.
