This is my RES habitat, its made from 3/4in plywood and about 5 coats of 2-part epoxy paint (non-toxic) He's huge, cant really tell by the picture (hes about 9 in) plus I have 3 Bala sharks and 6 tiger barbs living in there with him. Currently there are 3 filters runing simultaneously to keep the water clear. A Magnom 250 hiding under the tank connected to the tank by a bulkhead drilled into the bottom of the tank. Plus theres a Hagen aquaclear 500 on the side of the tank (the great thing about having a wood aquarium you can drill holes where ever you need them!!!!) Plus theres a powerhead pumping water into the substrate of the Pothos plant which is also filtering the water. Pretty neat huh? It took FOREVER to build.

I actually got the main plans from the GARF website http://www.garf.org/tank/buildtank.asp of course I made a few modifications, such as building the basking platform and ramp. But the only thing I cant stress enough with building this type of thing is to be patient and dont RUSH. I gaurentee if you do, the tank will leak (trust me I know) and always double curing time (with silicon or anything else) those curing times are under the assumption that the product is going to be fully submerged. Mine took me about a month to build, so dont thiink its going to be accomplised over a weekend. Good luck!!
