Damn bro, congrats on getting some to eat already!! Awesome. Did you scent the pinks, live , or what? I like four and seven. Sweeeeeeet animals.

Joe

pyromaniac Jul 23, 2011 07:23 AM

Thanks, Joe!
I just put live newborn pinks in a deli cup with the baby snake and leave the cup over the UTH so they stay warm overnight, if they don't eat right away. Number three ate right away. In the morning if they have not eaten I dip the pink in water and put it back. Often they will then eat it.

Number four is my special needs child; it's tail is kinked like a little pig's tail, otherwise it is in good health. So I guess I will keep it.

I like number three the best, too. Not only is it the first to eat, it has a little aberration on one of its white bands which makes it easy for me to always identify.

I like #1 best followed by #7...All are great Bob, congrats again...Dave.

Numbers one, three and seven are going to be hold backs. And of course number four with the kink tail, just because I don't think anyone will want it and it needs a good home. Number two is the only one who even remotely resembles the mother.

Mama eating after laying this clutch. She was HUNGRY!

Those are gorgeous!

Next year I will hopefully have more clutches as I have the 08 trio and another pair (08 male and 08 beefy female) that will most likely breed.
There has been an ongoing debate about cohabitating snakes, as what if they eat each other. In my collection nobody has eaten the other, they have mated instead! LOL!

The parents to this clutch getting it on this spring. I am hoping the third snake which was in blue in this picture also mates as she is by far my prettiest and biggest one. I made a dumb mistake by separating the male after he mated with the first female, to get him to eat, and he missed the second female's ovulation...next year just leave them be!

I took their photos in a quart cottage cheese container. A tad overexposed on the flash, but at lest they stayed in the container. Number six did try to leap out and almost made it!

This is a learning experience, for sure. Once I have the babies all eating and can successfully determine the sex of my babies I will feel I have graduated from newbie to intermediate.
