When I first got my 2 Patricia Tincs I had an acrylic top on the tank that housed them. The next day when I returned home from work the smaller one was nowhere to be found in the tank ( I totally disassembled the tank looking for it ). In a state of panic I realized that it had found a small gap in the lid and escaped. Frantically searching the 6'x12' the tank was in I found nothing. Broadening my seach I happened to look under my bed and spotted this poor frog covered in dust and other nasty stuff barely moving on one of the rugs beside the bed. It was pretty skinny and dehydrated so I warmed up some gatorade and diluted it with water and let it soak in there under observation for 2 hours. It barely moved at first, but slowly regained some strenght and was able to hold itself up. The next few days I kept it in a small container with only paper towels, some pothos leaves, and a hiding space with a couple of fruit flies. After five days it was alot more alert and eating, I could finally breath a sigh of relief. Now it is back with its larger tankmate and doing quite well. Although it still bares a discolored spot above its right eye, it is healing now. From now on I will never use acrylic for tank lids due to its nature to warp and underestimate these escape artists. The one that got out is the smaller one in this image.
