parazap dosing?

somegirl Sep 30, 2003 06:22 PM

hey guys. i just tried the parazap for the first time...not sure if the beardies love it or hate it; they kept trying to eat the eyedropper! and now they all need baths i got my sick leo to take a little bit of i too, so hopefully thatll help out. poor little girl.

i couldnt find eyedropers at target, but found one type at eckerds. but they hold 1 ml, and the instructions say '3 ccs for an adult beardie'. soooo in eyedroppers, how much should i be giving them? (one is itty bitty, the other is sorta lower midsized heh)

ml's and cc's are the same.
Your syringe holds 1 ml, you'd give them 3 syringefulls to equal 3 cc's or 3 ml's.
Just for general reference....1 teaspoon equals 5cc/ml. If that helps to "eyeball" the amount needed, it would be a little more than one half a teaspoon.
Good Luck!

I was gonna make my own post about parazap but since this one was alrdy here there's no point.
My beardie no longer drinks from his eyedropper (he used to when he was little now he just lets drops of water sit on his nose). Is there another way to administer the parazap like dusting the crickets or soaking veggies in tea?

hhhmmm....not really anything that easy.
Mine will take the tea for the first day, but then clam up.
So, I draw up the dose in a syringe without a needle, have a helper hold the dragon wrapped in a washcloth to keep the spikes and toenails under control, I then pull the loose skin of the beard to open the mouth and squirt it in the side of the dragons mouth. I don't squirt in all 3cc at one time, maybe 1cc or so at a time.
It's fast and I am assured they got their dose entirely.
Unlike myself who was ingenious in finding ways of spitting out medicine my mother gave me as a child

I agree, try the gatorade or apple juice or cranberry juice......sometimes you can change it up when they get bored with the flavor.
