Scar on female poly

gerryg Jul 24, 2011 05:14 PM

At least I thought it was a scar until I took this photo for your perusal... the optics of my camera seem better than my own

She developed this "scar" about 4 months/sheds back. Looking at this picture I'm now inclined to say it's as if extra scales without black tipping have developed in that area. Looking at older photos of her I think I may see hints of this "scar" on the third red ring... obviously not as pronounced though, seems to be just a single scale in the earlier picture. Any of you seen something like this before? It hasn't become any worse or better over the last 4 months.

Brand new scales that grow in are basically just as if the snake was a neonate all over again with no tipping. They generally get tipped with time, and those scales should follow suit as well as they also mature.

Pretty interesting stuff....
