Strawberries and possible combos (pics)

Kevin Saunders Jul 25, 2011 10:04 PM

I thought I'd show off the new additions as well as some I've had for a while. First up is my favorite strawberry girl. I originally got her for her genetics, but I love the way she looks and I think I'll be very happy with her as an adult. She loves to eat, which I greatly appreciate considering her sister...

This is the sister I mentioned. She has refused to eat for me so far, but she does look nice.

The other sister is an anery strawberry. She's not showing any extra color at this point and basically looks like a young ghost. That should just make the eventual color change all the more dramatic though.

I have some others that are showing unusual pink coloration and may be homozygous for strawberry as well (or hypo/strawberry). Like this ultramel anery girl for starters...

I tried to get a comparison shot with my male "specter" (Naples ghost). It didn't really work for her, but it sure made his color pop.

Here are some solo shots of him. He's probably the most prized snake in my collection right now. Great eater, super mellow, and attractive-a real triple threat.

I don't really think it's due to the strawberry gene, but this young ghost has a pink wash to his coloration as well (though it doesn't show up well on camera). I thought I'd include him though, just for some extra eye candy.

It'll be interesting to see how compatible everyone's genetics are and hopefully I'll get some nice colorful offspring when I start mixing and matching.

they're all nice Kevin
I can easily see why that male would be a favorite.

Maybe my monitor settings are off. I can definitely see it on him in person, but it never seems to show up on the computer. Glad it's visible to somebody else though, sometimes I think I'm crazy when I take a bunch of pics of a pink snake and when I look at them on the computer later it's all gray.

happens all the time....pinks are hard to capture...they seem to wash out easily, especially with a flash.

Pinks are very hard to capture. I read someone somewhere post that pinks show up best on a gray background. Seems to help anyway.
