breeding season question

are you suppose to keep the under tank heater(belly heat) on or off during the breeding season??? my temp is 80 all day

80 on the hot side? I always thought this was too cool? 87-91 is where I've seen it should be at. I haven't bred yet, but reading through posts here, not everybody cools. So you don't HAVE to lower your temps in order to get balls to breed.
