I'm willing to bet there's some Central American in that one.

I don't see a shred of BCC in that animal, but that doesn't mean there's not a little bit in the woodpile somewhere.

But, what prompted me to post something was this picture here:

Here comes the "uninformed" part that I referred to in the subject line. If the picture were divided like this:
123
456
The area is section 6 (the caudal 1/3 of the body) appears T-Positive to me. What would normally be black, appears purple - especially along the laterals - less so along the borders of the tail stripe but it's still not as dark as I would expect.

If I'm wrong, it could easily be explained by several possibilities, the main five being:
1) I have ZERO experience with T-Positives - lol
2) It could be my eyes/monitor, or the fact that the picture is posted against a white background (ks background - not the paper towel)
3) The animal could be entering a shed cycle which would alter the appearance of the colors
4) The flash threw off the colors in the picture
5) It's simply a very young boa which hasn't developed some of the darker pigment that comes with age

The rest of the body leads me to think it's NOT a T-Positive, but that section of that picture brought up a LOT of questions in my head.

But as you already stated, this is DEFINITELY NOT a Brazilian and I'd be questioning the person who traded it to you as such. I'd ask who they received the animal from and for that persons contact info, and then just trace back the lineage as far as you can.

Regardless, I think that's a really pretty boa!

The T pos thing ran through my mind too Jb. Then I thought about it and decided not to post because possibly there is
some Hog island involved.

I have to agree the lack of black in the tail made me think
of a T Pos Boa of some type.

I am amazed out morph naming friend on here hasn't came on and told us what it is. In his absence, it is a "purple flamed, scarlet midnight, partial expression T-positive, hypoerthrytic boa".

In all seriousness, I have no idea on locality, but definitely not Bcc. Unfortunately you will never know the true origin(s) of this snake and its lineage. As a result, if you sell it, sell it as a CA boa, simple as that.
