Wow, that is a nice sized clutch. The most I've ever got from one of my Cal kings was 12 eggs. How old is your female?

DMong Jul 28, 2011 10:13 AM

Yeah Ross, I was very pleased with her clutch size as well man. She is only a 2008 animal. She was plenty big enough last season, but they didn't quite manage to make it happen last season..LOL!

Good work Doug. Your pics make me anxious to hatch obks again. Now the fun begins getting those little buggers to eat mice. However, I have had a couple of clutches over the years that just hammered mice from the get go, they were certainly the exception though. Again, nice job buddy.

Will

DMong Jul 28, 2011 10:41 AM

Thanks a bunch Will. I know you definitely like these little gems too from working with them in the past. Yes, I am prepaired for some stubborness with a few, but might be pleasantly surprised I hope. The adults I have were indeed some little stubborn tikes themselves, but came around after a while. Heck, as you well know sometimes other getula can be like that too for whatever reason(s) no matter what you try it seems. Fortunately, once that little "switch" is tripped, it is smooth voracious sailing from then on..LOL!

Anyway, thanks again Will, and I'm glad that you have always had a great appreciation for these guys too..

Do you still have your group?

>> I'll take some more shots later on when all are out of the egg.

You're like the stripper slowly peeling a strap off one shoulder, or the drug pusher passing just a little taste of dope thru the school yard fence, ginning up anticipation for the whole show. I wanna see the snakes!

DMong Jul 28, 2011 12:30 PM

LOL!!,.....I know Terry, I hate to tease like that. I should have waited until they were further out and a few were completely emerged, but seeing the six heads poking out when there was nothing hours before was too much excitement at the time..

I will definitely post some full body pics soon..LOL!

Doug, go ahead and just squeeze 'em out for photos. I'd appreciate it ..LOL. Nice Job !

DMong Jul 28, 2011 05:17 PM

LOL!,..thanks... Yes, I really want to do that, but I believe they are JUST starting to come out on their own now. I cut a few remaining one's so I hope they will be poking their heads out by tonight.
