2011 Hold Back Gold Blush Mojaves

FGS Jul 27, 2011 10:05 PM

Gold Blush Savannah (mojave / cinnamon)

Gold Blush Jewel Mojave

I call this the Gold Blush Red Line

Super Gold Blush Paradox Mojave

Gold Blush Pastave

Pure Gold Blush Mojave. Mother and father were brother and sister gold blush mojaves. The first mojave ever produced from this breeding. I couldn'r be happier with the quality of this snake.

Best of luck with everyone's season.

On one hand I'm laughing that you've selectively bred Mojaves to the point that they look like Lessers or Butters.
Your pure GoldBlush Mojave looks like a butter. *thumbs up*

I mean that as a compliment.
If I bought one of your GB Mojos as a Butter I wouldn't know it.

And I wanna cry when I see what you've done with just selectively breeding ONE trait.
I literally want EVERY Ball python that you posted.

The GoldBlush Dimaond has nice contrast. White VS Gold...
The 'high-whiteness' is reminiscent of calico crosses.

That Paradox Super Mojo?
If I hatched that, it would not leave my possession.
No chance I would ever sell it. Ever.
Congratulations.

Thanks for sharing!

BB,

I'm crying too.

The reality is that gold blush mojaves are being sold for 3 and sometimes 4 times higher than market value. As the price of most morphs decreases the value of the gold blush line increases. The normals that are produced from these lines are now being sold for 10 and sometimes 20 times higher than market value. From a breeders standpoint and business standpoint, that's all good.

It's always been my goal as a breeder to re-define what our snakes should look like. The fun for me will be as this project continues to mature.

Next year I hope to produce gold blush mystics, gold blush mystic potions, gold blush deserts and gold blush desert mojaves among other combos. The gold blush gene seems to pop the colors of what ever snake it's bred to.

I don't think of this project as a replacement for butters of lessers. It seems to be taking a path of its own.

Matt Lerer from GHI Reptiles recently proved that there is someting very uniuque going on with the gold blush line. It will be fun to see where this adventure takes us.

Thanks for your comment.

Brian, I am very impressed with how your gold blush line has retained it's characteristics when combined with other morphs. I really like the jewel and the gold blush pastel.

Very, very nice!

All looks very nice..but I have to say some of them looks a lot the same thing.. like when you hatch 50 Pastels from diff.females
there will be some # 3-4 / # 5-6 / and the best looking 7-10 on the scale..

Cheers

Rolf,

Thanks for your comment.

I hope through more selective breeding that I can minimize the odds of producing those #2 and 3s to producing a much higher percentage of 7 to 10s.

Excluding the jewel clutch, I've only produced 6 mojaves this year, all of them were hold backs, most are the nicest looking mojaves that I've ever produced.

Here is a video of the jewel clutch after shed.

Notice how consistant they are.

What is a Jewel? And don't say a grocery store!

FGS Jul 28, 2011 02:06 PM

The jewels are produced when I breed a gold blush mojave to a particular beautiful normal. Next year I hope to increase the quality of the jewel clutch by breeding a 2010 hold back male gold blush jewel mojave to it's mother / The normal that produces the jewels.

If you look back on this thread and find my response to R. Mikkelsen, you will find a video of the this year's gold blush jewel clutch.

Watever Jul 30, 2011 08:36 AM

Could the Jewel be a Super Gold Blush ?
Or is that the pure gold blush ?

Actually, I am asking if the mother be a normal gold blush ?
Or she is totally not related to the project ?
-----
love this world, don't hate it.

FGS Jul 30, 2011 10:10 AM

The mother of the jewel clutch is a normal, not related to the project.

Next year I plan on breeding a 2010 holdback gold blush jewel mojave to its mother. I anticipte the babies from that clutch will be even brighter than the gold blush jewels.
