Some very cool hogs!!!!

daneby Jul 29, 2011 12:12 PM

Some of you might remember the 2 dark hogs (1.1) I had hatch 2 years ago from breeding 2 WC animals from the same location in Cascade County, MT. This year I bred the dark male back to his mother & got 16 babies, 8 are dark ones. Its obvious this is a color morph, but more breeding is needed to find out exactly how it works. I'm thinking I will call them sables because they are dark with a shine & their undertones very from olive to gray, or reddish brown, each one is different. Let me know what you guys & gals think.

Thanks,

Dan Eby

Looks like the start of an awesome project... I can see some really neat potential when breeding into other morphs... Very nice...

Those are cool. Congrats on finding that gene. They could prove to be awesome combo animals.

Dan,

Those are smokin! Do you have belly shots of them? I can't wait to see what they all look like as they shed and grow. Congrats and keep us updated!
