Tropical Ecology in Ecuador

I know this isn't exactly monitor specific but I may have the chance to spend next semester at the Universidad de San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador. During my stay I'll be allowed a 2 week research outing to the Galapagos and a month long stay at a Bioresearch Station in the Amazon. Anything I should look for as far as pics are concerned?? If all goes well and I can go (its very expensive!!! LOL) I hope to take plenty of herp pics along the way. I just thought I would share the news since I sometimes see ppl with interests in wild monitors on here. Thanks for reading.

Bring a good digital camera w/ you & shoot as many pics as possible. Don't let money be an object. My brother is in Brazil right now, he e-mails me tons of good pics. He jumped all over the chance to go to South America, and would not take it back. This could be the coolest semester of your life, Nice beaches, hot chicks, & plenty of herps! Good Luck!
