lavender also

It was quite a coincidence that Greg posted his hatchling Lavenders yesterday. I came home from a week long trip and found my first clutch of 50% lav x 50% lav hatching. Of the four, one was lavender. I am very excited because this same female laid 16 good eggs in her second clutch. I have 7 more clutches of possible lavenders cooking now. I am holding my breath. I know that I have at least one pair of hets now anyway. BTW, I am glad that everyone has posted photos of their hatchlings before I got mine. I would have been disappointed. They are not very impressive right out of the egg. Mine has already changed since yesterday (after 1st shed). Here are a couple of pics.

Here she is next to one of her siblings. Not dramatically different at time of hatching.

Congrats Brian, that is...in my opinion a great looking lavender.
Keep us posted as to any more you hatch out. As I recall I think you only bought one 50% het male from me, man did you ever hit the odds with proving him out!

Actually David I bought three males and six females. I am just glad that one of the males proved out. Like I said in the post above, I ended up with two lavenders in this clutch, and they just happened to be a pair. I should be able to prove out all of my females in a year or two!

Really? Must have been someone else, anyway it's all good. You have a very beautiful lavender...the dark ones are always the best.
Wait and see you'll know what I mean.

I feel very stupid, but ANOTHER one of the hatchlings was a lavender. I did not realize until after it crawled out of the egg. It looks very different than the 1st. I will post photos tomorrow. That makes 2 out of 4 eggs being lavender. I NEVER get this lucky!
