There are various stages of the granite "phase."
A totally speckled animal is what we are calling ultra.......

These are Granites:






These are Ultras:


It's sorta like a line bred trait.......Some just aren't as refined as the others.......

Plus if you breed an Ultra (totally speckled) to another ultra you do not get all Ultras.....You may get one or a few or none, but you will get granites for sure.......Maybe even some normals......

Here's a pair of siblings (except that nuchal striped one) from a less refined line...still cool though in my opinion......
