Egg Question

ROC Aug 02, 2011 02:37 PM

First time breeder. I have eggs that were laid a few days ago. Should eggs dimple some? This is what I am seeing with my eggs and want to make sure they aren't drying out.

They are set up at 89 degrees in a 6qt bin with 3 or 4 inches of vermiculite and a small dish of water in the bin.

Thanks for the help!

Ross

Yea mixed with water. The usual wet but can't squeeze water out routine. And just like a little restraunt plastic dish with water in it. Any thoughts on those dimples? Thanks!

none of my eggs have dimpled this year, even the ones that hatched. i use mixed vermiculite and have 2 kitty litter pans of water sitting on the heat tape at the bottom of the incubator. so the humidity is literally 100% or higher lol

Thanks! I just put some open water containers in the incubator. Should be good to go!

If anyone has any insights they wanted to share about dimpling of eggs please post, I'd love to hear about your experiences.
