I'm having trouble injecting Panacur in the mouse. this is pretty disgusting but last time i tried, i pressed so hard at the needle that something in the mouse "exploded", and all the medication came out of his rear. So i put only a quarter of my last panacur dose (cause i didn't want any explosions happening again). So now i'm trying again (third time). Is there any important steps i should do ? is ot ok if i put a quarter of the dose again and again and again ... until finished ?

any help would be very much appreciated ! thx ...

Hehehehe, had a similiar experience once, wasn't pretty.

Ok, here's what I do. Fill the needle with the amount of panacur you need. Insert the needle into the mouse, inject a little panacur, then move the needle around. Rather than trying to inject a ton of panacur into one spot, inject smaller amounts into several spots. It just takes a little practice.

and injected into the abdomen by way of going through the chest cavity
then when I pull out the needle, there are more bariers to it not leaking out (and these pinks were fragile to begin with)
if you are using a more grown mouse, and it is fres killed, you can pull up a section of skin and inject in the little tent it makes but I like using an alraeady existing cavity to fill up

BTW I M an RN

You don't mention the size of the mouse. I have injected meds directly under the skin - skin will stretch. You can also move the needle around to put the meds in differnt areas.
