Breeding size in F transpeco ratsnake

DocOp Aug 06, 2011 07:14 PM

Hello,

Looking for anyone that can tell me a safe breeding size/weight for female transpeco ratsnakes. My oldest female is a 2007 animal, measuring ~40". I would like a bit more size on her, but I'm curious if she is of safe size to breed. Thanks.

Age is a factor. She should be four years old or so, which yours is. Subocs breed in June-July and it may be late to hope for a breeding this year. Her weight is a big factor as well. 40 inches is long enough if she's nice and heavy. The attached photo shows an animal in breeding weight.

Yeah, I am planning for next year. She has good weight but I don't think it'd hurt to back on a few grams from now till next June. Thanks! By the way, nice specimen.
