I just wanted to share my visit to a local establishment, that had quite the selection of fine and unique reptiles. Here is just an appetizer. Please look close at the animals for sale and their labels.

I felt like going "PEEWEE HERMAN" on them.

We wouldn't have 6 and a half billion people if you had to be beautiful to get laid.
Wow!,...Why does this place even bother with a cage label??, they just call it anything they want off the top of their heads..LOL!
A long while ago, I sold a few snakes here and there to this one pet store. So one day I see a beautiful knoblochi labeled as a "Honduran milksnake"..LOL!
Another pet store years ago I would sell a few milksnakes to had a pinkie in with a Rough Green Snake(Opheodrys aestivus) and wondered why this snake was not eating the pinkie. I said.....umm, because that is NOT a Green Ratsnake like you have it labeled as, they are insect eaters!..LOL!
The same store once traded me a nice very light Colombian boa constrictor for an adult male Andean milksnake. I even WROTE DOWN exactly what it was, AND the scientific Latin name because they had no clue what it was that I was selling them in the first place. Two days later, I go into the store to pick up a few pinks untill my shipment of them came in, and I go look at the cage they put my snake in. They had it labeled as an "Indian milksnake"..LOL!. I told them no folks, ANDEAN!,..you know, like in the Andes Mountains????.
Another store had a tank labeled Eastern Hognose. I said,...ummm, no, what you have here is a FAR less common Madagascar Blonde Hognose folks, not an Eastern Hognose.
Went into another store by my buddies house, and they had a leucistic Texas Rat labeled as a "Lencistic" Texas Ratsnake. The person that made the label apparently thought the "u" was actually upside-down and was supposed to be an "n"!!..LOL!
Another pet store by me had a VERY normal Florida kingsnake labeled as a "hypo" florida king. I go over and get the guy and bring him over to the cages and point to it and say...."this one here is not a hypo at all my friend, THIS one you have over here in this OTHER cage is the hypo, THAT one is as normal and as dark as they come bud..LOL!
Anyway, I could go on and on, but just about every single pet store I am ever in usually has all sorts of snakes grossly mislabeled. It is really comical what they call some of them.
I'm sure many here see the same things I do all the time in stores and shows..

Yeah....that's pretty much how it went. I said "Tell me about this one....". And he said "yeah she's got some really pretty "markings" on her doesn't she?"
Hahaha! Geez. Pretty markings, yeah. When in doubt, call either a brooksi or Cal King...you can't go wrong!
You know that store can get into a lot of trouble for the black/whiet/red cal king.
Maybe you should let them know.

I did. Right before I seized it.
Hahahhaha!!! JUST KIDDING. I did no such thing.
If they can't tell a ball python from a king snake maybe they should sell ladies shoes or something instead.

no frigging kidding. The florida labled as brooksi is at least understandable...but a ball python as a cal king? WTF?
I once saw a great plains rat labeled as a gopher snake :goofy:
