Hi,

Im looking into adding to my herp collection and tegus and monitors fancinate me. I stumbled across a dwarf tegu in the classifieds section which caught my eye. So i was wondering would this be a good Tegu for a beginner? I would like something that i wouldnt need a whole room as an enclosure (i understand some tegus need massive enclosures) and I would like a lizard that i could care for with some ease (a good beginner tegu)

Any help would be great!

While I am not that knowledgable on the size the dwarfs will reach. I do want to caution you that tegus can be a fair amount of work they are not the lizard to just put behind glass and leave. I feel sorry for those that do that with any animal they are really missing out on the greatest part of having them around. I hope you find the answers you are looking for try searching the older forums since I know I have seen someone else on the forum with a dwarf. Look for the heading Don't laugh.
