yasin1 Aug 09, 2011 10:57 AM

Hey Guys,

I was offered 1.1 Dwarf Tigerstriped Boa c.imperator for 1250$ trade value. I have never heard about this morph and google does not help much.

Do you guys have any idea if this deal is reasonable?

The are February 2010 and about 40 cm (16inches)long.

Here are the pictures:

If you have never heard of a morph, them most likely it's not a real "morph". Sure it may be genetic and reproducible to some extent. However, if there is no buzz for it online then it's probably not worth much monetarily. Now with that said, if you personally like how it looks then it may be worth it to you to trade. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Honestly, I think this guy is pulling your leg. Like the other guy mentioned, if no one has heard of the morph than it's probably not legit. I personally have never heard of it. To me it looks BCC and remind me alot of one of my boas. My best guess is he/she is some kind of cross. I provided a pic of one of my boas that I feel shares some resemblance in the patterns and from the looks of the tail, I can see some costa rican influence.

my guy is a columbian hypo and costa rican cross. Nothing special, but looks different much like this one this guy is offering you. I would say for the price he wants you can get a really legit boa morph from a legit breeder and not have any worries, or you could buy his boa that no one really knows anything about and end up getting screwed...just sayin

"Tiger" or "Tiger Stripe" is what some people called Reverse striped Central American boas. Nicaraguan, Panamanian, and Honduran, (and I think even Costa Rican) boas are sometimes reverse striped like the one pictured. But whether it's genetic depends...not all reverse striped C.A. are genetic. Have you seen pictures of the parents? Have you seen any of the litter mates? 16 inches is small for a one year old....my newborn Nics have all been 14-16 inches at birth.

I think these are Peruvian Dwarfs. The guy purchased them from somewhere else so unfortunately no pictures of parents/siblings are available.

Um...Well, Peruvians aren't dwarfs nor are they Boa constrictor imperator. So that's two red flags for me.

To answer your question, no it's not worth it, seems like a rip off to me
