How Do I get My Diamond Caimen To Eat?

pg_exotics Oct 01, 2003 12:07 AM

Hey, I just bought two male diamond caimen about two weeks ago. They are now starting to come out from their hide spots and show themselves more, but they just won't eat at all. What should I do? I breed Ball Pythons and know that it is ok if they don't eat for a while, but don't know mych about crocs. I was told they were eating frozen thawed mice off of tongs. If you have any advice I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Danny

What is your cage and water temp?Mitch told me that they like it on the cooler end so I've been keeping the water for mine at room temp(76-80 degrees) and the air temp is about 82-85degrees
I've been feeding them live crickets and they eat like crazy.

Those all good ideas that should work for you. also they might just still be a little stressed from the shipping and stuff, once hey settle in and get used to thier enclosure they should start to eat. i feed my diamond female new born pinkies and gut loaded grass hoppers and quater inch crikets, i also have a few feeder fish in with her, but she insist on chewing on the oscar that twice her size, its quite funny and hard to break em up. the oscar dont seem to mind he just shakes her off and keeps eating. also you can try small pieces of meet like hamburger or something and put it in there right before ligts go out and more than likely itll be gone in the morning.
