A friend of mine has a female BRB he's loaning me to breed with my male hypo. He acquired this snake locally quite some time ago and she was in rough condition. The owner never cared for her properly so she had stuck sheds and she was thin. He brought her back to life, so to speak, and she turned out to be a really well-natured, beautiful animal. Over the past couple of years, however, her color started to change. She now looks like this:
Excuse the crappy cell phone pics. To me, she looks almost anery. I think I remember reading something about color fade in BRBs but that it isn't well understood. So I'm curious if any of you rainbow gurus could shed some light on what may have caused her colors to shift toward the dark end of the spectrum. Unfortunately I don't have any 'before' pics for comparison.
I would appreciate any input.
