>>i have had my corn snake for about 10 or 11 years. recently, i have noticed that he is going through the shedding process more frequently. i realize that there are many reasons, like temperature, humidity, stress etc that can cause shedding issues but i do not beleive any of these to be the problem as aside from the change in seasons, all of his conditions are the same. he is active, alert, eating well and in good shape in general.

>>i plan to take a stool sample and my boy to the vet when the current shed cycle is complete, but i am getting really worried because i cannot figure out why this is happening. can anyone share some insight as to why this may be happening?
are the sheds complete?
what is more frequent? two weeks, three weeks, four weeks?
If the sheds are complete and healthy then it could simply be a sign of growth, even at that age.
Snakes never stop growing, their growth rate just slows dramatically as they age.
Have you been using a new source of feeders?
The feeders could be a little larger or the mice may have been healthier or fed a more nutritional diet resulting in a growth spurt in your snake. You are right, there could be many factors but as long as the snake is healthy, the sheds are complete and there are no signs of distress during or after the sheds I wouldn't be too worried.
