Rozy the Bull Snake

pyromaniac Aug 12, 2011 09:34 AM

Just hatched a few days ago. Ate right out of the egg, as did its four siblings. Going into blue now. A keeper! For an unexpected clutch from a very young pair, I am most pleased to have got this treasure. I have since separated the parents to prevent any more hanky panky until 2013 at the earliest, as having this clutch slowed the female down on growth considerably!

Thanks! I am not sure if it is a she yet. Sexing snakes is not my area of expertise! LOL!

The other four. When I put them in this tub today to do the group shot they were quite mellow, only a little tail buzzing. Not like right after they hatched, when my partner saw them being all hissy and spitty like little rattlesnakes and said they were saying "F**Kyou! F**Kyou! F**Kyou!"

Rozy has always been mellow. I think after getting full bellies the others felt better, too. These are pre-shed shots.

Nice,
I like the bottom right one, looks a little brighter in color than the rest.

Very Nice Bob!

Looks like very good potential for color enhancement as it matures. You never quite know with these guys until they get some age on them. Some fade to more neutral tones with age and some color up nicely.

I think Rozy will be colorful no matter what. I am going to hang onto the other four to see if they color up, also. They are mostly brown but there is a hint of red between the saddles.
