So tell me, which of you children are going?

I fully expect each one of you to come say hi to me but be sure to have a vodka diet coke in your hands. Will put me in a good mood.

Hi Cindy,

I won't be there for the first time in many years. My wife is is due with our first child within a few weeks of the show. I don't want her water to break somewhere in hills of W. Virginia from the long car ride.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife presence has become to gestapo-ish at the show in recent years, from my experience anyway.

Best wishes Will, to you, your wife, and the new member of your family! I have been hearing stories about F&G wanting hatch dates for every animal and stuff. Sounds weird, to me like things are gonna get much stricter for this hobby? I hope I'm not being paranoid. Cindy I won't make it yet again! I haven attended in several years now. I'll try to make the Tampa show later in the season.

CONGRATULATIONS WILL AND MRS. STILL!!!!!

And....More the reason why the BIG one should be in Texas!....LOL
It is more centrally located than East Coast Florida.......hehehe

But I am sure the TP&W (Texas Parks and Wildlife) will crack down then........too bad......

Hey Dave,

Thanks Man! I'll keep you guys posted.

I know what you mean, my wife usually drives through NY, PA and central Ohio, but when we get within that sliver of black king range in SE Ohio, I take over and man the wheel until GA (where we don't dare stop for anything - especially with a car full of show stock).

In all my years making that trek from Buffalo to Daytona and back, all that I've seen road cruisin' was a screamer male eastern box turtle during a lightning storm just northwest of Charleston W. Virgina. I saw this glowing orange and black orb with bright red eyes on the side of US79 in the downpour. After slamming on the brakes and nearly killing us, I just held the boy up, did the happy herper dance in the rain and shooed his arse off the highway...ah good times.

We're both a little sad that we are not making the journey this year. It has become an annual pilgrimmage that we both really enjoy.

Have fun guys and gals and pound a couple for me on Friday night!

Thanks!

Will

These animals live in nature, without you. They know when to eat, when not to eat, how much to eat, etc. Why do you think they cannot do that in captivity? They do know, you are suppose to support what THEY DO, not hold back food because you keep them at temps they would not pick.

I know, I know, poor planning on my part. I think some booz was involved on the night of conception, otherwise I would have had better judgement and shot for a later delivery! SHAT! LOL.

Honestly, my wife still wants to go. If I could get a table today, she'd start packin'. I'm afraid of her water breaking on the interstate in the dead of night while I'm trying to road herp at 70 mph. She is still young and adventurous, while I have turned into the overly cautious old fart. She insists that the Fla sun will allow her to absorb lots of UVB for the baby's bones, but I think the pool, beach and Bubba-Gumps has more to do with it.

Anyway, just try to keep me away next year (if the show happens). I think we should have a forum for the forum in 2012, we can argue and drink beer until we all get along...or pass out (my wife is already planning the trip).

I know this impending great event will change everything, and that scares me a bit. But, I am nothing if not adaptable. I've been cleaning up other organism's poop for many decades, however I do hear that infant turdes are especially sloppy and pungent...awesome. It can't be worse that a good king meal of f/t chicks, right??????

Thanks Rainer.

after about your 3rd child and you have it on the road. You'll just tell you wife to get out of the car and walk it off.HA HA HA!

When I say "change". It ain't nothing like you expect. Nothing to be scared of , that's for sure. I wish you could have seen my face when I saw my girl come out. I was owned and punked at the same time for life!!!!!LOL!

I hope you get a girl!

What a great line! I'll remember that one. Boy or girl, I don't care as long as the little critter is healthy.

Thanks again Rainer.

I look forward to seeing you--I think. But I had a grade school teacher who rapped our knuckles with a ruler. You don't have something like that in mind for us, do you?
