Awwwww! I love seeing eggs hatch, it's like Christmas!!!! I used to breed beardies and it was so amazing.
I'm getting back into breeding and am doing hoggies. I'm curious what the little plastic looking thing is that you have your eggs on and why you use it. Back in the "old days" of my beardies, we just made an indentation and laid them in vermiculite or moss.

It's a S.I.M (Suspension Incubation Method). You still use Vermiculite its just in the bottom of the S.I.M there for not in direct contact with the egg's. This allows the egg to not get to wet which can result in a loss of the egg. Hope this will help

That makes total sense. I would imagine a more uniform temp and humidity level all the way around the egg.
