How do I treat the big bales of aspen bedding because it seems everytime I get the stuff I get mites from it. I really like it but is there any way i can treat the whole bag before I put it in the cages?

That is one of the reasons I use newspaper for substrate. When I did use aspen I would open the new bag and spray a little Equate Bedding Spray into the bag and seal it back up and wait about three days. Then I would open the bag and let it air out for a few hours before using the aspen. No more mite problems. Equate Bedding Spray is found at Walmart for $4 a can and is the same formula as Provent-A-Mite. Bill
